I spoke to chief executive Paul Fineman a few weeks ago and as much as I like what he has managed to achieve of building IG into the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of celebrations, craft, gifting, stationery and creative play products since SCSW first alighted on the shares at 64p in August 2010, I think it’s reached a natural pause in its growth.A post-close trading update this month suggests H1 sales will rise 40% to US$435m but take the US$149m contribution from CSS out and revenue declined by 8.3% due to the impact of Covid-19. CSS might turn from a sow’s ear into a silk purse as the commercial, operational and back office teams in the US become fully integrated but the US economic outlook is blurry ...
