Invox (181p) was first quoted on the stockmarket in August 2001 when the dubious sounding Printpotato.com, a web-based promotional printing company, acquired TPC Telecom, a private business which had been built up by the same directors. Printpotato.com had raised £3m during the dot com bubble, and by the time of the reverse nine months later, when those operations ceased, it had blown £1m of it. Printpotato paid £12.6m upfront for TPC (adjusting for the £2.4m cash that came with it). This was paid in a mix of shares, loan notes and cash and left the directors holding 75% of the equity.
