OTB has confounded the doubters by announcing that despite terrorist attacks, Brexit and weak Sterling, which all put pressure on the UK travel market, it expects results for the year to end September to beat the top end of expectations.Sales in the UK were up 12% to £70m. For the past three years OTB has invested c.50% of revenue in marketing but it said this year it achieved a lower cost of customer acquisition (in Google cost per click and marketing) thanks to its proprietary bid management software and it managed to reduce that spend to 40% of revenue whilst still taking market share.
