Bloomsbury goes from strength-to-strength. Since my last update it has completed acquisitions in both its commercial and consumer divisions. Bigger of the two deals is a UK consumer bolt on, Head of Zeus, for £8.45m on a debt free basis. HoZ is an independent publisher of fiction and childrens books and has published many bestsellers including Cixin Liu's science fiction trilogy, The Three-Body Problem, which is being adapted for Netflix. HoZ generated a £0.3m pretax profit on sales of £8.6m in 2020. The other purchase was in April of Red Globe Press, an academic imprint, from Macmillan Education for £3.7m.
