Ahead of results later this month on 26 November, Renew has issued a trading update. This said that pretax profit for the year to 30 September will be in line with market expectations of Â£9.4m (eps 13p), whilst the cash position is strong at Â£27m, close to the current market cap. of Â£30m. The specialist engineering arm, which supplies technical services for land remediation, nuclear decommissioning and contracting in the water sector saw strong trading but in the last few months, there has been weak demand on the land remediation business as a result of declining housebuilding activity, which is the principal end market.
