Another good interim set from Renew. For the six months to 31 March pretax profit of Â£4.1m was up 25% on the year. Earnings were flat at 5.6p mainly due to a return to taxation, having used up its tax losses. Two years ago when we first tipped the shares (at 49p) the company had just redefined its activities into specialist engineering and building. The former is higher margin and two acquisitions in the past two years have already lifted its contribution so that it represented 24% of turnover and just over 50% of operating profit in these results.
