Durham-based Hargreaves Services, a business involved in coal in one shape or another, has enjoyed impressive growth in recent years. Its range of activities includes importing coal from Russia and transporting it, as well as physically loading it onto the conveyors that feed the nation's power stations. It’s supremely effective at doing this. But the real kicker for investors is coming from what management describes as their “production operations†comprising Maltby Colliery and Monckton, the UK's only remaining coke production facility, both in South Yorkshire.
