Despite sharp falls from the UK banks, due to the absence of an interest rate rise, the FTSE-100 held steady and has popped through 7,300. This was aided by very positive news on antiviral drugs, which could consign the pandemic into history.October has seen stability at an index level after September had been uncomfortable for small cap investors but the next leg upwards requires renewed investor confidence and this will be evidenced by further progress in the FTSE-100 index, up through 7,400 and beyond.
