Last month, however, the AI story took a dark turn. A US memo, ominously titled “The 2028 Global Intelligence Crisis,” went viral among tech investors. Its warning was simple but unsettling: as AI tools become capable of generating software rapidly, companies might no longer need to pay hefty subscription fees for traditional enterprise software. Entire SaaS business models could be disrupted, the memo suggested.
