Earlier this year Boots announced that it will soon turn its website into an online marketplace with plans to stock hundreds of products from big and small suppliers spanning health, beauty, baby and wellness  with some unconfirmed speculation that it has called in THG to help build the platform (as THG has already successfully built its own beauty marketplace, Lookfantastic.com). Boots is following a model already used by the likes of Next (NXT; 6900p) and ASOS (ASC; 383p), which have both been so far ahead of their time that they had no option but to write their own tech.
