MPAC’s shares sparked into life post H1 results, as CEO Adam Holland signalled the storm clouds may be clearing. With no further deterioration in trading, Liberum has held its FY EPS forecast at 33.5p (nudging it to 36.8p for FY26). MPAC’s core FMCG customers - Heinz, Mars, and Unilever - are caught in the crossfire of the global trade war. Even Heinz, which makes 90% of its US products in the US, is feeling the squeeze from raw material inflation caused by tariffs. While automation is the long term antidote, the risk of weaker demand due to higher prices has made companies like Heinz more cautious and delay any capital investment.
