Kainos expects sales for the year to end March to come in ahead of market expectations at £407m, up 11% year-on-year, although pretax profit is forecast to be in line mainly due to greater use of external contractors in order to cope with some of the large contracts won. At the year end, the workforce had grown by 21% to 3,475 people, including 259 contractors and third-party consultants. The performance was underpinned by Digital Services, where the large deals included a three-year contract with NHS England worth up to £67m and a four-year contract with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) for up to £73m.
