Auction Technology Group - Shares shoot over 400p as profits decouple from sales growth

Having avoided the clutches of private equity suitor FitzWalter, which made a dozen approaches - the last being at 400p cash - ATG has seen its shares comfortably trade above that level. What stands out from the latest H1 is the clean decoupling of revenue growth from Gross Merchandise Value (the total final sale value of all items sold through the platform). Total Group GMV was entirely flat at US$1.8bn, yet underlying revenues grew nearly 8% to US$126.1m, proving that ATG is successfully extracting more dollars from each deal by embedding services such as shipping.
