After a strong H1, with like-for-like merchanting sales up 11.5%, Chancellor Reeves’ Budget noise has noticeably cooled market activity. In the first four months of H2 to end October like-for-likes reversed by -2% but the division still managed a 50bps gross margin improvement versus the same period in 2024, despite aggressive competitor moves. The newly formed Digital division, formed by the recent CMO acquisition, has delivered month-on-month revenue growth and went into profits in September. FY25 guidance is now £480m–£485m sales and £20m–£21m in EBITDA. The shares pulled back on the news. CEO Shanker Patel added 1.4m shares and now holds 55.2m shares (33.2%). Buy. ...
