G4M looks set to knock future profits out of the park. This month’s H1 showed sales up 31% to £80.7m, driven by gains across the UK (+28% to £49.6m) and Europe (+35% to £31.1m). These gains came against comparatives of 6% growth in the UK and a 12% decline in Europe a year earlier. A significant portion of the uplift reflects the demise of rivals in the sector. G4M in fact went and acquired inventory from two insolvent rivals - GAK and PMT - paying c. 40p on the pound. It then sold £1.9m of this cheaply bought inventory and landed a £1.1m windfall gross profit. Overall, gross profit margin rose 1.5% to 28.2%.
