An article in Press Gazette this month paints a sang de boeuf-hued portrait of the newspaper industry’s ongoing struggles, as traditional print readership continues to shift in favour of digital platforms. Reach’s flagship title, The Daily Mirror, has seen circulation fall 17% to just 185,954 in the past year alone. The ox-blood trend runs through the entire sector although The Telegraph, Sun, Guardian and Times have ceased reporting ABC figures since 2020.
