Lookers has released a Q3 update showing continued strong trading momentum. Market-wide supply shortages impacted volumes in Q3, but stronger margins and operational efficiencies helped offset the lower supply whilst Lookers outperformed the market especially during the key plate change in September. Overall for Q3 to end September it outperformed the overall UK new car market (which declined 0.1% in Q3) by 5.6%.Pretax profit guidance for FY22 has increased to “no less than £75m” versus a previous broker forecast of £60.3m. Net cash (ex. leases) has risen to £86m, up £53m on a year ago and Lookers has announced a share buy back of up to £15m.As at 30 September, the group held property and cash equivalents of 98p per share.
