My decision to Buy rate Quantum in February proved well timed and as we said then, the new CEO has simplified the business.Sales were £88.8m (the growth however being down to pass through revenue for the low margin Medicine Adherence division) and there is a mammoth aspirin in the form of £30m of exceptionals including £14m relating to the closure of Nupharm as well as other impairments. This left an adjusted pretax profit of £5.5m (eps of 4.6p). Net debt was £13m.As we said in February, Quantum makes its living from making “specials” for the NHS. This is the golden goose.
