Consumer magazine publisher, Future (previously known as Future Network) has issued an encouraging AGM statement. This said that trading for Q1 to 31 December (a crucial quarter which accounts for over 40% of profits) was satisfactory with profits modestly ahead of expectations. The impact of a weaker dollar would result in reported revenues being flat on a reported basis. Adjusting for this, sales were up 3%, reflecting strong growth in entertainment titles offset by declines in games and computing titles. Excluding acquisitions, like-for-like sales were down 1%. Numis forecast £25.0m pretax and eps of 6.2p (20% tax charge) for the year.Future is widely tipped to be the would-be-bidder ...
