Xaar continues to deliver on its 5-year plan. Revenue was up 20% at £26.3m - around 10% better than expectations, driven by recovering sales of ceramic printheads into Asia (China sales +45%) as previous Xaar customers re-engage. However, commentators were quick to look at £2.7m headline ebitda loss, which was actually ahead of forecasts but had been distorted by a £1m non cash impairment to cover obsolete inventory. Gross margin was 29%, up 2% on H1 and H2 2020. In terms of new news, the latest product to launch from its ImagineX platform is Irix, which targets the Coding & Marking end markets.
