Filta has reported solid looking full year results to end December. Sales on continuing operations were up 36% to £11.5m and underlying operating profit grew 67% to £2.2m, for eps of 4.8p. Although the various kitchen services, which are performed centrally in the UK, fared well (eg. fridge seal installation, drain maintenance and waste oil removal), the action is the Fryer Management segment, which grew +35% to £8.4m with most of the growth in the US. There were 12 new franchise sales in the period resulting in a period end count of 184. That was only up two from 182 six months earlier but as reported previously, the model in the US differs from the original UK side in that the focus is not on single owner ...
